Latin dances:

When you first arrive to your class you will receive your dance program which will give you an idea about our syllabus, professionalism and that we follow a constructive program to transform you into a great dancer.

Bachata Syllabus 

 Level 1

  • Basic side to side, forward and backward basic step, on place basic step

  • Right turn, left turn, inside turns

  • Turns for men

  • Half pivot, hammerlock turns

  • Outside turns, stationary turn

  • Corner step

  • Wrap, wrap and walk

  • Basic Dip, Changing places

 

Level 2

  • Step touch, slide, back to back turn

  • Press step, from open to close position (smoothly)

  • Wrap with step touch & press step, basic with a cross

  • Step touch while turning in front of the follower

  • Body roll, turn from hip and shoulder lead

  • Step touch while turning around the follower

  • Wrist lead, V step, cross body lead

  • Dip from neck with turn, full pivot

Level 3

  • Quick under arm turn

  • Step touch for the follower

  • Bachatango

  • Drop, prep for spins (followers),

  • Hip rotations, 1 2 slide

  • Advanced body roll

  • Jump, changing ladies footwork

  • Prep for spins(leaders)

Bachata Class Description

 

Level 1:

A Bachata class that welcomes people who have never danced before and it challenges people who already have some experience.

This class will help build a foundation of moves so you can progress to the upper levels of Bachata

Explore the rhythm, music and timing. Learn how to lead and follow the moves needed to progress your Bachata dancing to a fun and comfortable skill.

 

Level 2:

Every week you will focus on learning a new fundamental to add to your bachata repertoire. We will focus on body movement, smooth transitions between turn patterns, men and ladies styling styling and additonal footwork to start creating your own style.

 

Level 3:

We keep adding more fundamentals every week. We will focus on the music. timing changes in the music, learn how to lead and follow more complex body movements and add a little touch of tango called bachatango.

 

Level 4:

Music is everything.

In this class we will put your fundamentals together. We will add even more complexity and style combined with Traditional Dominican footwork. You will learn about the different instruments in bachata and how to dance on them to help you create your own Bachata style.
